“I got the grant! Now what?”

Congratulations if you took a shot at writing a grant and found out you got it! Maybe it came as a surprise and you’re thinking “Now what? Where do I start?” You want to focus on your goals of course, while paying close attention to the tangible (and measurable) activities you must do to achieve your goals. This is where many people get flustered. They have the vision and know the outcome they want, but can’t fully conceptualize how to make that happen (so if this describes you, you’re not alone!). When you submit reports to your sponsor, you want to demonstrate what you accomplished during the life of the grant. Bottom line, did you do what you intended with the money you were awarded? Making a nominal investment in a consultant to guide your start-up and put your project on a successful course can help you achieve the most from your well-deserved funding.
